| Remember when the met office said last summer was set to be one for BBQs?
It ended up being wet, windy and wild, then came the big Freeze which had been billed as a mild winter.
The government's forecasters have not been with it lately it seems.
But now a small firm of forecasters from Wales, called Positive Weather Solutions, who've correctly predicted the wet and the cold, are saying this summer will be the hottest on record.
They say average temperatues in June, July and August will beat even those of the 1976 heatwave when stand pipes and drought became a feature of daily life.
As a nation we're famous for talking about the weather and with the mercury set to soar beyond 38 degrees , lets hope this summer is becomes a hot topic of conversation.

| I don't know about the other parts of Britain but London's last summer was HOT! I was here for two months and the rest on a holiday but when I was at home I remember it was so hot mom didn't allow me to open the window at day time - the heat was coming in! Just at night a little bit! It's good we had that cooling machine - sorry don't know how to say it english lol. Anyways I just hope this summer will not be as hot as the last cuz I can't take any more of them days when I'm coming back from school all wet! We used to hold bottles of water on our heads and then opening them suddenly like a surprise - it was fun! We were so hot! Even the teachers did it! Remember when in one of my teachers' room the heater was broken and was on all the time - it was horrible! Like Sahara in there! The buses are hot as well! That's what I think about the weather - someone else's turn now! =] | |

| last years summer wasn't one of our hottest summer...its was more of a wash out. We normally reach about 24C sometimes abit higher but i live in the Midlands (central) but London is always at least 2 degree higher than the rest of the country due to it being so built up.
Billie is the cooling machine your on about a air conditioning system? its fitted into the actual house. beyond that the only thing i can think of is it being a fan.
i'm hoping we have a nice summer esp after the bad winter we had...however i don't want it to be too hot, for 2 reasons 1. because of Jodi and Kayleigh they don't cope well with the heat 2. i normally end up with heat stroke if it gets too hot i'm not built for hot weather lol.

| No the air conditioning system is not what I mean - anyway. It was a really hot summer. The buses were full and the air was dirty, there was traffic everywhere and it was hell! I hated it! I couldn't wait to come home and go under the shower! | |
