| Chapter 1 Family Secrets
One day in the castle in Zenobia of the Reginald family a 25 year old princess named Princess Maxine was walking over to where her parents Queen Marie and King Mike were because they wanted to see her. MAXINE: You wanted to see me. MARIE: Yes we did. MAXINE: Why? MIKE: Princess, you’re mother and I have to go on a business trip and you're going to stay at a horse stable called Pine Hollow. MAXIE: Can’t I stay here? MIKE: I’m sorry princess but you can’t. MAXINE: But, father, Sportacus can look after me along with my other older brothers and sisters. MARIE: I’m sorry, baby girl but they can’t. MAXIE: Why can’t they? MIKE: They’re coming with us. MAXINE: What about my younger brothers and sisters? MARIE: They are going with you to Pine Hollow. MAXINE: Can we bring our horses with us? MIKE: Of course you can. MAXINE: Mother who will my brothers, sisters and I stay with while we’re at Pine Hollow? MARIE: Oh you will be staying with the owner of Pine Hollow, Max Regnery. MAXINE: Ok. Can I still wear my tiara when I’m at Pine Hollow? MIKE: Not unless you want them to know that you’re a Princess, princess. MAXINE: I don’t want them to know because they might treat me differently and not treat me like one of them. MARIE: That’s true. MAXINE: Can I still bring? I promise to keep it out of sight of everyone at Pine Hollow. MARIE (as she hands her daughter a purse for her tiara): As long as you keep it in this? MAXINE: Is this for my tiara? MARIE: Yes it is. MAXINE: Thanks, mother. MARIE: You’re welcome, baby girl. An hour later Maxine and her younger siblings rode into Pine Hollow stables on their horses. Maxine, Stephanie and Trixie all rode sidesaddle. The owner of Pine Hollow walked over them. MAXINE: Are you Max Regnery, the owner of Pine Hollow? MAX: Yes I am. Who are all of you? MAXINE: I’m Maxine Tiara Reginald. These are my younger brothers and sisters. STEPHANIE: I’m Stephanie Reginald. PIXEL: I’m Pixel Reginald. TRIXIE: I’m Trixie Reginald. STINGY: I’m Stingy Reginald. ZIGGY: I’m Ziggy Reginald. MAX: Are you 6 the sons and daughters of Marie and Mike Reginald? MAXINE: Yes, yes we are. Why? MAX: A half hour ago I got a call from a Marie and Mike Reginald telling me that you will be living with me while you’re here. Is that true? MAXINE: Yes it is. MAX: Maxine tell me why are you and your sisters riding sidesaddle? MAXINE: Well Max where we come from all the girls have to ride sidesaddle because of our riding skirts that we wear. MAX: Now if you will all follow me I will show you to the stables where your horses will stay. Now Maxine and her brothers and sisters are following Max to the stables where they keep all the other horses. MAXINE (thinking to herself): WOW!!!! Max is so gorgeous. Maxine’s horse, Maxie was rubbing up against Max. MAXINE: Max, it looks like that my horse likes you. MAX: You’re right it does look like your horse likes me. What’s your horses name? MAXINE: Her name is Maxie. MAX: How long have you had Maxie? MAXINE: I’ve had her since she was a baby. In fact I was there when she was born and I helped out with her birth. MAX: That’s cool. Now they are in the stables. MAX: So are you going to get off of your horses? MAXINE: Well you see Max I should have told you this earlier. MAX: Told me what? MAXINE: My brothers, sisters and I never ever get off or get on our horses by ourselves our personal horse trainer’s which are our older brothers and sisters help us on and off of our horses. So can you help me off my horse, Max. MAX: Sure, Maxine. So now Max is helping Maxine off of her horse and at that very moment Max’s wife Deborah walked in and saw Max help Maxine off of her horse. A few seconds after Max helped Maxine off of her horse Deborah walked over to them. DEBORAH: Max what do you think you’re doing? MAX: I was just helping Maxine off of her horse that’s all. DEBORAH: Couldn’t she get off her horse by herself? MAXINE (as Max is helping her siblings off of their horses): Actually no, I’ve never gotten off my horse by myself. My personal horse trainer which is my older brother Sportacus Reginald helps me on and off of my horse. By the way who are you? DEBORAH: I’m Deborah Hale Regnery and I’m Max’s wife. When Deborah said that Maxine took off running out of the stables. MAX: Great now look what you’ve done, Deb. DEBORAH: What did I do or say? MAX: I don’t know but whatever you said made her run out of the stables. I have to go make sure she’s ok. DEBORAH: You don’t have to. MAX: I have to, Deb. DEBORAH: Why? MAX: Because her and her brothers and sisters are staying with us during their stay here while their parents are on a business trip. A few minutes later Maxine ran into The Saddle Club. MAXINE: Oh, I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going. STEVIE: That’s ok. Why were you running anyways? LISA: Are you new here? CAROLE: What’s your name? MAXINE: Yes I just arrived today. My name is Maxine Tiara Reginald. I rather not say why I was running just yet. STEVIE: I’m Stephanie Lake but you can call me Stevie. LISA: I’m Lisa Atwood. CAROLE: And I’m Carole Hanson. STEVIE: We are The Saddle Club. Just then Max ran up to them. MAX: There you are Maxine. Oh, I see you met the Saddle Club. MAXINE: Yes I did. LISA: Max do you know why she was running? MAX: I think I do. STEVIE: Why was she running than? MAX: Well I think that it was something that Deborah said. CAROLE: What did she say to make her run off? MAX: I don’t know what it was that my wife said. When Max said that Maxine got upset and ran off but Max caught her. MAX: Now was it something that I said. MAXINE: Yes, but I rather not say right now. An hour later Maxine, her brothers and her sisters were with Max and Deborah. MAX: Well here you are home away from home. MAXINE: This is a nice place you have here, Max. MAX: Thanks, Maxine. MAXINE: You’re welcome, Max. A few minutes later Max showed Pixel, Stingy and Ziggy to their room and then he showed Maxine, Stephanie and Trixie to their room. MAX: There you go girls. Here’s your room where you will be sleeping while you’re here. MAXINE: Thanks, Max. MAX: You’re welcome, Maxine. A few seconds later Max left. Soon as he left Maxine went over to her bed and fell onto the bed. Maxine sighs. STEPHANIE: What’s the matter, Maxine? MAXINE: It’s nothing really. TRIXIE: Come, Maxine, we know it’s nothing when you do that. MAXINE: Oh ok. I’ll tell you, but promise me you won’t tell anyone including Max. STEPHANIE & TRIXIE: We promise. MAXINE: Thanks. STEPHANIE & TRIXIE: You’re welcome. MAXINE: Ok, the truth is I’m in love with Max. TRIXIE: But he’s married. MAXINE: Yeah I know that, but I just can’t help it he is so gorgeous. STEPHANIE: Wait is that why you ran out of the stable earlier today because Deborah said she was Max’s wife? MAXINE: Yes that’s why. At 7:30pm Max came in to the girls room. MAX: It’s 7:30pm time for bed girls. MAXINE: Bed? At 7:30pm? I don’t think so. MAX: Yes you have to go to bed at 7:30. MAXINE: Why? MAX: That’s our rule. MAXINE: Well I think it’s time to change that rule Max. MAX: What are you talking about? MAXINE: Well, you see back home our bed time is always 8:08pm. MAX: Why it is 8:08? MAXINE: My older brother Sportacus was the one that made sure we all were in bed by 8:08. So our bedtime has always been 8:08 and no matter where we go it will always be our bedtime. Right Stephanie and Trixie? STEPHANIE & TRIXIE: That’s right. MAX: Oh ok. You know that’s what your brothers said to me when I told them that it was time for bed. MAXINE: So Max can we stay up until 8:08? MAX: Yes you can. MAXINE (as she gave Max a passionate hug): Thanks Max. MAX: You’re welcome. A few seconds Max left. MAXINE (as she falls onto her bed): He is so gorgeous. STEPHANIE: Maxine you have got it bad for him don’t you? MAXINE: Is it that obvious, Stephanie? STEPHANIE: Yes it is. ~Meanwhile in Max’s room while Deborah was fast asleep~ MAX (whispering to himself): Maxine is so beautiful. Wait I can’t be falling in love with her when I’m married to Deborah. Oh who am I kidding. I don’t love Deborah like I used to. It all started when she made Maxine run out of the stables earlier today. I wonder if Maxine is in love with me. Tomorrow I won’t show that I don’t love Deborah anymore, I will still make her think that I still love her. I hope that Maxine catches us kissing so I could see what she’ll say or do when she catches me kissing Deborah. Later that night Maxine is in bed dreaming about Max. Max is in his bed dreaming about Maxine and telling Deborah that he doesn’t love her anymore.

| Chapter 2 Telling The Saddle Club The Truth
The next day Maxine and her brothers and sisters were riding their horses after Max helped them onto their horses. Maxine especially loves it when Max helped her onto her horse Maxie. A few minutes later they were in the ring. Max was in the middle of the ring with Maxine and her siblings were riding around the ring. MAXINE (thinking to herself): Max is so gorgeous. I wish that he wasn’t married. MAX (thinking to himself): Maxine looks so beautiful on her horse. She also looks like a princess on her horse. Maxine noticed that Max wasn’t paying attention. MAXINE: Hey, Max what are you thinking about? MAX (snaps out of his daydream): Nothing Maxine, nothing at all. MAXINE: Are you sure about that, Max? MAX: Yes I’m sure. MAXINE: Oh ok. A half hour later they decided to stop for awhile. Max went to his office after helping Maxine and her siblings off of their horses. A few minutes after Max left The Saddle Club walked over to Maxine and her siblings. STEVIE: Hey, Maxine were you and your brothers and sisters just riding your horses? MAXINE: Yes we were riding our horses in the ring with Max. CAROLE: Where’s Max now? MAXINE: He went to his office. Maxine sighs. LISA: What’s wrong, Maxine? MAXINE: I know that Max just left, but I miss him already ready. LISA: Why do you miss Max? MAXINE: If I tell you the truth will you promise not to tell Max or Deborah? SADDLE CLUB: We promise. MAXINE: The truth is I’m in love with Max. CAROLE: Wait is that why you ran out of the stables when Deborah said that she was Max’s wife? STEVIE: And is that also why you almost ran away when Max said what Deborah said? MAXINE: Yes that’s right. When Deborah said that I got upset and that’s why I ran out of the stables. LISA: You can’t tell Max that you’re in love with him now. MAXINE: I know that Lisa, but I just wish that he and Deborah weren’t married. STEVIE: You know I think that I have a way for him and Deborah to get a divorce. MAXINE: How are you going to go about doing that, Stevie? STEVIE: You’ll see, Maxine, you’ll see. A few minutes later the Saddle Club left. Maxine saw Max and Deborah and a few others walking over to the ring including the Saddle Club. Stephanie, Pixel, Trixie, Stingy and Ziggy noticed that their older sister, Maxine couldn’t stop looking at Max. STEPHANIE: Hey, Maxine. MAXINE: Yes, Stephanie. STEPHANIE: We couldn’t help but noticed that you couldn’t stop looking at Max. MAXINE: I can’t stop looking at him. TRIXIE: Why? MAXINE: That’s because he’s so drop dead gorgeous. I wish there was a way for him to look over here and notice me. STEPHANIE: Why don’t you sing some songs? MAXINE: That’s a great idea, Stephanie. PIXEL: What songs are you going to sing, Maxine? MAXINE: I was thinking that maybe I could sing some of my favorite songs by Britney Spears. STEPHANIE: Good idea. ZIGGY: What Britney songs are you going to sing? MAXINE: The first song is called “Baby One More Time.” Now Maxine is singing and her and her brothers and sisters are dancing to “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. She’s singing it as loud as she can so that Max and everyone who is with him in the ring to notice her. Oh baby baby, Oh baby baby Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know that something wasn’t right here Oh baby baby, I shouldn’t have let you go and now you’re out of sight, yeah show me how you want it to be tell me baby cuz I need to know now, oh because CHORUS My loneliness is killin me (and I) I must confess I still believe (still believe) When I’m not with you I lose my mind give me a sign, hit me baby one more time! I used to think I had the answers to everything But now I know Life doesn’t always Go my way, yeah... Feels like I’m caught in the middle That’s when I realize... (Chorus) I’m not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time A moment that is mine While I’m in between (Verse 2) I’m not a girl There is no need to protect me Its time that I Learn to face up to this on my own I’ve seen so much more than u know now So tell me to shut my eyes I’m not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time A moment that is mine While I’m in between I’m not a girl But if u look at me closely You will see it my eyes This girl will always find Her way I’m not a girl (I’m not a girl don’t tell me what to believe) Not Yet a woman (I’m just tryin to find the woman in me, yeah) All I need is time (All I need) A moment that is mine (That is mine) While I’m in between I’m not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time (is All I need) A moment that is mine While I’m in between I’m not a girl Not yet a woman Now Maxine is singing and her and her brothers and sisters are dancing to “That’s Where You Take Me” by Britney Spears. Oh Baby, Oh Baby Oh Baby, Oh Baby In love, In no belief Never found inside of Me Built these walls up so high Needed my room to breathe Oh Baby, Oh baby You turn them down Can’t believe you’ve changed my mind Oh Baby, Oh Baby I saw your smile Stay with me a while All things fall in to place My heart, it feels so safe You are my melody That’s where you take me With you I get so high Lost in the crystal sky You are this melody That’s where you take me I never fell before How did u find my door The key up to my soul To you forever more Oh baby, Oh baby You make me rise And never did I once think twice Oh Baby, Oh baby You make me stile Stay with me a while Ooh! All things fall in to place My heart, it feels so safe You are my melody That’s where you take me With you I get so high Lost in the crystal sky You are this melody That’s where you take me Now Maxine is singing and her and her brothers and sisters are dancing to “Oops!...I Did It Again” by Britney Spears. Before they sang the song Maxine noticed that Max and everyone else was walking over to them. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I think I did it again I made you believe we’re more than just friends Oh baby It might seem like a crush But it doesn't mean that I’m serious ‘Cause to lose all my senses That is just so typically me Oh baby, baby Chorus Oops!...I did it again I played with your heart, got lost in the game Oh baby, baby Oops!...You think I’m in love That I’m sent from above I’m not that innocent You see my problem is this I’m dreaming away Wishing that heroes, they truly exist I cry, watching the days Can’t you see I’m a fool in so many ways But to lose all my senses That is just so typically me Baby, oh Chorus Oops!...I did it again I played with your heart, got lost in the game Oh baby, baby Oops!...You think I’m in love That I’m sent from above I’m not that innocent Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah “All aboard” “Britney, before you go, there’s something I want you to have” “Oh, it’s beautiful, but wait a minute, isn’t this...?” “Yeah, yes it is” “But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end” “Well baby, I went down and got it for you” “Oh, you shouldn’t have” Oops!...I did it again to your heart Got lost in this game, oh baby Oops!...You think that I’m sent from above I’m not that innocent Chorus Oops!...I did it again I played with your heart, got lost in the game Oh baby, baby Oops!...You think I’m in love That I’m sent from above I’m not that innocent Chorus Oops!...I did it again I played with your heart, got lost in the game Oh baby, baby Oops!...You think I’m in love That I’m sent from above I’m not that innocent Now Maxine is singing “Where Are You Now” by Britney Spears. Calling out your name Your face is everywhere I’m reaching out to you To find that you’re not there I wake up every night To see the state I’m in It’s like an endless fight I never seem to win I can’t go on as long as I believe Can’t let go when I keep wondering CHORUS Where are you now, what have you found Where is your heart, when I’m not around Where are you now, you gotta let me know Oh baby, so I can let you go I can hear your voice The ring of yesterday It seems so close to me But yet so far away I should let it out To save what’s left of me And close the doors of doubt Revive my dignity But, I can’t go on as long as I believe Can’t let go when I keep wondering CHORUS Where are you now, what have you found Where is your heart, when I’m not around Tell me Where are you now, you gotta let me know Oh baby, so I can let you go I should let it out, it’s time to let you go Oh baby, I just want to know CHORUS Where are you now, what have you found Where is your heart, when I’m not around Where are you now, you gotta let me know Oh baby, so I can let you go CHORUS Where are you now, what have you found Where is your heart, when I’m not around Where are you now, you gotta let me know Oh baby, so I can let you go Now Maxine is singing “Dear Diary” by Britney Spears. Dear diary Today I saw a boy And I wondered if he noticed me He took my breath away
Dear diary I can’t get him off my mind And it scares me ‘Cause I’ve never felt this way
No one in this world Knows me better than you do So diary I’ll confide in you
Dear diary Today I saw that boy As he walked by I thought he smiled at me
And I wondered Does he know what’s in my heart? I tried to smile, but I could hardly breathe
Should I tell him how I feel Or would that scare him away Diary, tell me what to do Please tell me what to say
Dear diary One touch of his hand Now I can’t wait to see that boy again
He smiled And I thought my heart could fly Diary, do you think that we’ll be more than friends? I’ve got a feeling we’ll be so much more than friends. MAX (thinking to himself): WOW!!! She has a beautiful sweet singing voice. She has a voice of an angel when she sings. DEBORAH: Is there a reason why you were singing all those songs? MAXINE: Yes there is but I rather not say right now. MAX: Maxine. MAXINE: Yes, Max. MAX: I was wondering if you could sing another song. I would love to hear you sing again. When Max said that she started to blush a little and only her brothers, sisters and The Saddle Club noticed. MAXINE: I would love to sing another song. MAX: What song are you going to sing? MAXINE: I don’t know. Let me talk to my brothers and sisters about that. Now Maxine and her brothers and sisters are turned around and started talking about what song Maxine should sing next. MAXINE (whispering): What song should I sing, guys? STEPHANIE (whispering): Why don’t you sing that one Shania Twain song that has Max’s name in it? MAXINE (whispering): Oh, you mean “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)”? STEPHANIE (whispering): Yes that’s the one. MAXINE (whispering): Great, I’ll sing that song. A few seconds later Maxine and her brothers and sisters turned around to face Max and everyone else that was with him. MAX: So have you decided what song you are going to sing? MAXINE: Yes I have. MAX: What song are you going to sing now, Maxine? MAXINE: It’s called “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)” by Shania Twain. Now Maxine is singing that song by Shania Twain. You’re so complicated-you hang over my shoulder When I read my mail I don’t appreciate it When I talk to other guys You think they’re on my tail I get so aggravated when I get off the phone And I get the third degree I’m really feelin’ frustrated Why don’t you take a pill and put a little trust in me And you’ll see
Don’t freak out until you know the facts Relax
Don’t be stupid-you know I love you Don’t be ridiculous-you know I need you Don’t be absurd-you know I want you Don’t be impossible
I’m mad about you (I’m mad about you) Can’t live without you (can’t live without you) I’m crazy ‘bout you (I’m crazy ‘bout you) So don’t be stupid-you know I love you
Stop overreacting You even get suspicious when I paint my nails It’s definitely distracting The way you dramatize every little small detail
Don’t freak out until you know the facts Relax-Max
Don’t be stupid-you know I love you Don’t be ridiculous-you know I need you Don’t be absurd-you know I want you Don’t be impossible I’m mad about you (I’m mad about you) Can’t live without you (can’t live without you) I’m crazy ‘bout you (I’m crazy ‘bout you) Don’t be stupid-you know I love you
Don’t be stupid-you’re my baby
I’m mad about you (I’m mad about you) Can’t live without you (can’t live without you) I’m crazy ‘bout you (I’m crazy ‘bout you) Don’t be stupid-you know I love you Don’t be ridiculous-you know I need you Don’t be absurd-you know I want you Don’t be impossible MAX: Why did you say my name in the song, Maxine? MAXINE: Actually, Max I had to because it’s part of the song. MAX: It is? MAXINE: Yes it is. DEBORAH: Are you sure? MAXINE: Yes I’m sure, Deborah. MAX: Why is it apart of the song? MAXINE: That’s because Max rhymes with relax. So that’s why Max is in that song. MAX: That’s cool. MAXINE: I was hoping you’ll say something like that Max. Later that night Maxine was in bed dreaming about Max. Deborah and Max were sleeping in each other’s embrace but Max was dreaming about Maxine.

| Chapter 3 A Surprise Visit For Maxine
It’s been a week since Maxine and her brothers and sisters arrived at Pine Hollow. Maxine was in the ring riding her horse Maxie and this time only Max was in the ring with her. Deborah was walking out of the stables with The Saddle Club. As Deborah and The Saddle Club continued to walk out of the stables Deborah noticed Max in the ring with Maxine. DEBORAH: What is he doing? STEVIE: What is who doing? DEBORAH: Max. LISA: Where is Max? DEBORAH: He’s in the ring with that new girl. CAROLE: You mean Maxine. DEBORAH: Yes that’s who I mean? LISA: What about them? DEBORAH: Well look for yourselves, girls. The Saddle Club looked over at the ring and only saw Max and Maxine in the ring. STEVIE: What’s wrong with that, Deborah? DEBORAH: I mean Max has always been hanging out with her since she came to Pine Hollow. STEVIE: I guess he just wants her to feel more comfortable while she is staying here for awhile. DEBORAH: How long is she going to stay here? CAROLE: I don’t know about that, Deborah. Just then a girl the same age as Maxine rode into Pine Hollow on her horse. The Saddle Club went over to her and introduced themselves. STEVIE: Welcome to Pine Hollow. I’m Stephanie Lake but please call me Stevie. THE GIRL: Hi, Stevie. My name is Janiqua Lavender but you can call me Jan. CAROLE: I’m Carole Hanson. LISA: I’m Lisa Atwood. STEVIE: We are known as the Saddle Club here at Pine Hollow. CAROLE: Who is this beautiful horse? JANIQUA: This is Janique. LISA: What brings you to Pine Hollow? JANIQUA: I’m looking for my best friend, Maxine Tiara Reginald. Is she here? STEVIE: Yes she is here. JANIQUA: Great. Where is she? CAROLE (pointing to where Maxine was with Max): She’s over there in the ring with the owner of Pine Hollow Max Regnery. JANIQUA: Ok. Thank you Carole. CAROLE: You’re welcome. A few seconds later Janiqua rode over to where Maxine was at with Max. ~Meanwhile in the ring with Max and Maxine~ MAX (thinking): She looks like a princess on her horse. As Maxine was riding around she suddenly noticed her best friend. MAXINE: Whoa, girl. Maxie stopped trotting. MAX: Why did you stop? MAXINE: I stopped because my best friend, Janiqua is here. Before Maxine could say anything Max helped her off of her horse. MAXINE (after Max helped her off of her horse): Thanks, Max. I didn’t even ask to be helped off of my horse but I did need to get off though. MAX: Yeah I know. I thought that I might just help you off before you ask me to. I hope that’s ok with you. Oh and you’re welcome. MAXINE: Of course it’s ok, if you help me off of my horse even if I don’t ask you to. A few seconds later Maxine went over to where her best friend is at. Max followed her with Maxie. Janiqua got down off her horse. MAXINE: Jan what are you doing here? JANIQUA: I came here to see you. MAXINE: Why? JANIQUA: I was starting to miss you back home. Max came over and cleared his throat. MAXINE: Oh, Janiqua this is the owner of Pine Hollow, Max Regnery. JANIQUA: Nice to meet you Max. I’m Maxine’s best friend, Janiqua Lavender but please call me Jan. MAX: It’s nice to meet you, too, Jan. (turns to Maxine) I’m going to put Maxie in her stall for you ok, Maxine. MAXINE: Ok, thanks Max. As Max was walking towards the stables with Maxie, Maxine couldn’t stop looking at him. JANIQUA: What are you looking at? MAXINE: I’m just looking at Max. JANIQUA: Why? MAXINE: The truth is I’m in love with him, but I can’t tell him that I am. JANIQUA: Why can’t you tell him? MAXINE: That’s because he’s married. Just then Deborah walked over to Maxine. MAXINE (as she sees Deborah walking towards her): Speaking of here comes Max’s wife, Deborah now. DEBORAH: Maxine, I would like to know why you and Max were in the ring alone earlier. MAXINE: You have to talk to Max about that. DEBORAH: Why? MAXINE: It was his idea not mine. DEBORAH: Where’s Max, now? MAXINE: He took my horse back to the stables. DEBORAH: Why didn’t you do that yourself? MAXINE: He did it because my best friend Janiqua Lavender is here, but she likes to go by Jan. DEBORAH: Oh ok that makes sense. Maxine, I’m going to make one thing clear. MAXINE: What’s that Deborah? DEBORAH: I want you to stay away from my husband, Max. MAXINE: Max Regnery’s wife say what? DEBORAH: I want you to stay away from Max. After Deborah said that Maxine ran into the stables to where Max was at. JANIQUA: Now look what you’ve done. DEBORAH: What did I do or say? JANIQUA: You can’t tell my best friend what to do or say. DEBORAH: Yes I can. ~Meanwhile in the stables~ MAXINE (calling out for Max): Max! Max, where are you? I need to talk to you. Before Max walked over to her after he heard her calling for her, she started crying. A few minutes later Max came to where Maxine was at and he noticed that she was crying. He ran over to her and he wrapped her in his embrace. MAX: What’s wrong, Maxine? MAXINE (through her tears): I don’t think that Deborah likes me very much. MAX (as he’s wiping away her tears): What do you mean by that? MAXINE: Well a few minutes ago, she came over to me and told me that she wants me to stay away from you. MAX: What did you say back to her? MAXINE: Nothing I ran in here looking for you. MAX: I’m going to have to talk to that wife of mine. MAXINE: What are you going to say to her? MAX: I’m going to tell her that she has no right telling you or anyone else what they can and can’t do. After that Max tightened his embrace on Maxine and as he did that Maxine was feeling a lot better and was feeling more safer and secure in Max’s embrace. MAXINE (as she’s still in Max’s embrace): Max you always make me feel better. MAX: Thanks Maxine. MAXINE: No, thank you, for making me feel better. A few minutes later Deborah walked into the stables and Janiqua along with her horse Janique. Deborah walked over to where Max and Maxine were at. DEBORAH: I thought I told you to stay away from him. MAX: Deb, I need to talk to you. DEBORAH: Where? When? MAX: My office. Now. So Max and Deborah went up to Max’s office. Maxine followed but Max and Deborah didn’t know. DEBORAH: What is that you want to talk to me about? MAX: Why are you being so mean to Maxine? DEBORAH: I’m not being mean to her at all? MAX: Yes you are. DEBORAH: No I’m not. MAX: You are too. DEBORAH: How am I being mean to her? MAX: By telling her to stay away from me. DEBORAH: I don’t like it when she’s with you. MAX: Tough. You can’t tell her what she can or can’t do or who she can and can’t hang out with. DEBORAH: I can too. MAX: No you can’t. DEBORAH: Why can’t I? MAX: Because her parents Mr. and Mrs. Reginald told her and they also told me that she has to obey me and of whatever I tell her to do and no one else. DEBORAH: Are you sure? MAX: Yes I’m sure. It was her parents’ orders. After Maxine heard all that she went down to where her horse is at and went into the stall and when she got there she broke out into a song. She started singing “Don’t Wanna Lose You Now” by the Backstreet Boys. I never thought that I would lose my mind That I could control this Never thought that I’d be left behind That I was stronger than you, baby Boy if only I knew what I’ve done You know, so why don’t you tell me And I, I would bring down the moon and the sun To show how much I care
Don’t wanna lose you now Baby I know we can win this Don’t wanna lose you now No no, or never again
I’ve got this feeling you’re not gonna stay It’s burning within me The fear of losing Of slipping away It keeps getting closer, baby Whatever reason to live that I’ve had My place was always beside you And I wish that I didn’t need you so bad Your face just won’t go away
Don’t wanna lose you now Baby I know we can win this Don’t wanna lose you now No no, or never again
Don’t wanna lose you now
I never thought that I would lose my mind That I could control this Never thought that I’d be left behind That I was stronger than you
Don’t wanna lose to loneliness Boy I know we can win Don’t wanna lose to emptiness, oh no Never again
Don’t wanna lose you now Baby I know we can win this Don’t wanna lose you now No no, or never again
Don’t wanna lose you now All I know we can win this Don’t wanna lose you now No no, or never again
Don’t wanna lose you now Later that night Maxine was in her bed dreaming about Max. When all of a sudden that dream turned into a nightmare. A few minutes later Maxine woke up screaming and Max ran into her room because he heard her scream. MAX: Maxine what’s wrong? MAXINE: Oh, Max I had the most horrible dream ever. MAX: Do you want to tell me about it? MAXINE: I don’t know. MAX: Please it will hopefully make you feel better. MAXINE: Oh ok. MAX: So what was so horrible about your dream? MAXINE: Well, Deborah had turned everyone against me and I don’t know why. MAX: You mean everyone? MAXINE: Yes, everyone. MAX: What was horrible about that? MAXINE: Well everyone wanted me out of Pine Hollow including you. MAX: Now I can see why it was horrible. After that Max gave her a hug and kissed her on the forehead. A few minutes later Max was back in bed dreaming about Maxine. Maxine was in her bed dreaming about Max again.

| Chapter 4 The Secret Comes Out
Maxine was in the stables brushing her horse when she saw Deborah walk by. When she did walk by Deborah gave her the same look she’s giving to Maxine since she first met Maxine. MAXINE (talking to her horse): Deborah has giving me that same look since she first met me, Maxie. Maxine saw Deborah walked into Max’s office. MAXINE (talking to her horse): I wonder what she is doing up there? Just then Max walked by. MAX: Hi, Maxine. Hi, Maxie. MAXINE: Hi, Max. Maxie neighed. MAX: What were you looking at when I walked up? MAXINE: I just saw Deborah walk into your office but before when she walked by me she gave me the same look that she has giving to me since she first met me. MAX: Well could you go tell her that I need to see her right away. MAXINE: Oh ok, Max. Could you finish brushing Maxie for me? MAX: Yeah sure I can. MAXINE: Thanks, Max. You’re the best. A few minutes later Max continued to brush Maxie and Maxine went up to Max’s office. When Maxine arrived at Max’s office she noticed that Deborah was on the computer on a website about Maxine’s family. Maxine clears her throat. DEBORAH: Maxine what are you doing here? MAXINE: I think the real question is, what are you doing here? DEBORAH: Nothing, nothing at all. MAXINE: It doesn’t look like you’re doing nothing. DEBORAH: Oh ok. I’m was searching online for something. MAXINE: What are you searching for exactly? DEBORAH: Well if you must know I was searching your family name and I came across this website about your family. MAXINE: My family doesn’t have a website at all. DEBORAH: Are you sure? MAXINE: Yes. DEBORAH: Well the family on this website has the same names as you and your brothers and sisters. Also it says that you are princes and princesses. MAXINE: Then you must be looking at the wrong family because my family isn’t royal. DEBORAH: Well I just you could be right, but... MAXINE (interrupting): But what? DEBORAH: There are no pictures of them at all. MAXINE: Maybe they didn’t want their pictures to be online so that if they go somewhere, where no one knows them they won’t be treated like royalty they’ll probably be treated like everyone else. DEBORAH: I still think that this is your family. MAXINE: Alright, it is my family. DEBORAH: I knew it. Just wait until I tell everyone that you are a princess. MAXINE (as she steps in between Deborah and the door): If you tell anyone I’ll make it so that you won’t see your precious Max ever again! DEBORAH: You don’t have the power to do that. MAXINE: Oh yes I do. Remember I’m a princess. DEBORAH: You can’t make me not see Max. MAXINE: I can too. You won’t see Max if you tell my secret to everyone. If you want to see Max keep this a secret. Besides I have to be the one that tells everyone. DEBORAH: Who says? MAXINE: The King and Queen. My parents. DEBORAH: Ok, I won’t tell your secret. MAXINE: Ok, but if I find out that you went behind my back and told my secret. You will never see your precious Max ever again. DEBORAH: Please don’t do that. I have to see Max. I promise I won’t tell anyone. MAXINE: Speaking of Max, he told me that he needs to talk to you. DEBORAH: About what? MAXINE: I don’t know he just told me that he needs to talk to you and that’s about it. A few minutes later Deborah went to go see what Max wanted her for and Maxine went back to her horse. So after Max told Deborah what he wanted to tell he went over to where Maxine was. MAX: Hey, Maxine. MAXINE: Oh, hi, Max. MAX: Maxine, I just wanted to let you know that this Friday there’s going to be a dance. MAXINE: That’s great. I love to dance and so does my sister Stephanie. MAX: I was wondering do you and your brothers and sisters have cowboy or cowgirl outfits. MAXINE: No we don’t. Why? MAX: Well that’s because everyone has to dress-up like a cowboy to cowgirl for the dance. MAXINE: Well we don’t have any outfits like that at all. MAX: I could take you and your brothers and sisters shopping for your cowboy and cowgirl outfits. MAXINE: Really, Max? MAX: Yes really. MAXINE: Thanks, Max. You’re the greatest. MAX: You’re welcome. When do you think we should go shopping? MAXINE: I was thinking maybe Wednesday because the dance is on Friday. MAX: That’s a good idea. Ok, I’ll go tell your brothers and sisters. MAXINE: Can my friend Jan come too? She doesn’t own a cowgirl outfit either. MAX: Yeah sure she can come. MAXINE: Ok, while you go tell my brothers and sisters, I’ll go tell Jan. So Max went to go tell Maxine’s brothers and sisters while Maxine went to go tell her friend. A few minutes after Maxine told Jan about the dance and that they are going shopping with Max on Wednesday to get their cowgirl outfits Deborah walked over to Maxine. DEBORAH: There you are Maxine. I’ve been looking everywhere for you. MAXINE: Well you found me. What do you want? DEBORAH: Well the Saddle Club told me that they need help cleaning out the stables before the dance on Friday. MAXINE: Can’t they do it themselves? DEBORAH: They can, but it will go faster if they had some more people helping. MAXINE: When do they need help cleaning the stables? DEBORAH: Wednesday. MAXINE: Oh, no can do. DEBORAH: Why not? MAXINE: That’s because I’m busy on Wednesday. DEBORAH: Doing what? MAXINE: Well, Max is taking me shopping... DEBORAH (interrupting): He’s taking only you shopping? MAXINE: You didn’t let me finish. He’s taking me shopping along with my brothers and sisters and my friend Jan. DEBORAH: I think that you should stay here and help the Saddle Club clean the stables. MAXINE: Let’s just see what Max has to say about this. So Maxine and Deborah went over to where Max was. MAXINE: Max could you tell your wife that I can’t help the Saddle Club clean the stables on Wednesday because you’re taking me shopping? MAX: Deb, she’s right about that. I am taking her along with her brothers and sisters and her friend Jan shopping for new outfits for the dance on Friday. DEBORAH: But, the Saddle Club needs help with the stables. MAX: The Saddle Club can handle it themselves. By the way what did I tell you about telling Maxine what she can or can’t do? DEBORAH: That I have no right telling her what to do, but I just don’t like her hanging out with you, Max. MAX: Tough. If you don’t like it than somehow you are going to have to just get use to and live with it. Besides Maxine is a great girl. Maxine blushes a little when Max said that. MAXINE: Thanks, Max. The next two days go by and it’s now Wednesday and Max, Maxine, Janiqua and Maxine’s brothers and sisters are going shopping for their cowboy and cowgirl outfits. An hour later they are back at Pine Hollow with their new outfits. Maxine bought a blue cowgirl mini dress for the dance, black cowgirl boots and a beige cowgirl hat. The rest for the week goes by and now it’s the day of the dance. Everyone is getting ready for the dance. STEPHANIE: So Maxine are you going to ask Max to dance with you? MAXINE: I was thinking about that. TRIXIE: How are you going to ask him to dance with you? MAXINE: You’ll have to wait and see about that one Trixie. Now everyone is at the dance. Maxine walks up to Max’s cousin Drew because he’s the DJ for the dance. MAXINE: Hey, Drew. DREW: Oh, hi, Maxine. MAXINE: Drew, I was wondering if you can play “Can I Have This Dance?” so that I can dance with Max to the song. DREW: You want to dance with my cousin. MAXINE: Yeah. DREW: Why? MAXINE: Well don’t tell him this but I’m in love with him. I know that he’s married but I have this feeling that it won’t last between Max and Deborah. DREW: How do you know that? MAXINE: Have you seen them two together lately? DREW: Yeah I have and? MAXINE: And they haven’t been getting along and they have been arguing with each other a lot lately. DREW: Yeah sure I can play that song for you. When? MAXINE: I’ll let you know by looking at you and I’ll nod my head. A few minutes later Max walked over to Maxine and Deborah was with him. Maxine looked at Drew and gave him a nod and the song “Can I Have This Dancing?” started playing. MAXINE: Hey, Max. MAX: Yes, Maxine. Maxine held out her hand to Max and started singing. MAXINE (singing): Take my hand, take a breath Pull me close and take one step Keep your eyes locked on mine, And let the music be your guide. MAX (singing): Won’t you promise me MAXINE (singing): (now won’t you promise me, that you’ll never forget) MAX (singing): We’ll keep dancing MAXINE (singing): (to keep dancing) BOTH (singing): wherever we go next It’s like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you It’s one in a million, the chances is feeling the way we do And with every step together, we just keep on getting better MAXINE (singing): So can I have this dance MAX (singing): (can I have this dance) BOTH (singing): Can I have this dance MAX (singing): Take my hand, I’ll take the lead And every turn will be safe with me Don’t be afraid, afraid to fall You know I’ll catch you through it all And you can’t keep us apart MAXINE (singing): (even a thousand miles, can’t keep us apart) MAX (singing): ‘Cause my heart is MAXINE (singing): (cause my heart is) BOTH (singing): wherever you are It’s like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you It’s one in a million, the chances is feeling the way we do And with every step together, we just keep on getting better MAXINE (singing): So can I have this dance MAX (singing): (can I have this dance) BOTH (singing): Can I have this dance MAXINE (singing): Oh no mountains too high enough, BOTH (singing): oceans too wide ‘Cause together or not, our dance won’t stop MAXINE (singing): Let it rain, BOTH (singing): let it pour What we have is worth fighting for You know I believe, that we were meant to be It’s like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you MAXINE (singing): (like you) BOTH (singing): It’s one in a million, the chances is feeling the way we do MAXINE (singing): (way we do) BOTH (singing): And with every step together, we just keep on getting better MAXINE (singing): So can I have this dance MAX (singing): (can I have this dance) BOTH (singing): Can I have this dance Can I have this dance Can I have this dance. MAX: WOW, Maxine you’re a great dancer. MAXINE: Thanks Max. You’re a great dancer too. MAX: Hey about we do some line dancing? MAXINE: That’s a great idea and I know the perfect song to line dance to. Maxine goes over to Drew and tells him to play “Any Mine of Mine” by Shania Twain. As they are line dancing to the song Maxine is also singing the song. This is what a woman wants... Any man of mine better be proud of me Even when I’m ugly he still better love me And I can be late for a date that’s fine But he better be on time
Any man of mine’ll say it fits just right When last year’s dress is just a little too tight And anything I do or say better be okay When I have a bad hair day
And if I change my mind A million times I wanna hear him say Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line Better show me a teasin’ squeezin’ pleasin’ kinda time I need a man who knows, how the story goes He’s gotta be a heartbeatin’ fine treatin’ Breathtakin’ earthquakin’ kind Any man of mine
Well any man of mine better disagree When I say another woman’s lookin’ better than me And when I cook him dinner and I burn it black He better say, mmmm, I like it like that yeah
And if I changed my mind A million times I wanna hear him say Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line Better show me a teasin’ squeezin’ pleasin’ kinda time I need a man who knows, how the story goes He’s gotta be a heartbeatin’ fine treatin’ Breathtakin’ earthquakin’ kind Any man of mine
Let me hear you say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line Better show me a teasin’ squeezin’ pleasin’ kinda time I need a man who knows, how the story goes He’s gotta be a heartbeatin’ fine treatin’ Breathtakin’ earthquakin’ kind Any man of mine
You gotta shimmy shake Make the earth quake Kick, turn, stomp, stomp, then you jump Heel to toe, Do Si Do ‘Til your boots wanna break ‘Til your feet and your back ache Keep it movin’ ‘til you just can’t take anymore Come on everybody on the floor A-one two, a-three four Hup two, hum If you wanna be a man of mine, that’s right This is what a woman wants... An hour later the dance was over and Maxine, her sisters and her best friend where in their room where they are staying with Max. JANIQUA: So what did it feel like dancing with Max? STEPHANIE: Yes tell us. TRIXIE: Don’t leave anything out. MAXINE: It was so wonderful. He is a great dancer. He is also a great singer. TRIXIE: Is that all? MAXINE: No. STEPHANIE: What else is there? MAXINE: Well when we were dancing together it was so magical. JANIQUA: How magical was it? MAXINE: So magical that it felt like Max and I were the only two people at the dance and that no one else was even there. STEPHANIE: That does sound magical. JANIQUA: And romantic. MAXINE: You’re right Jan is was kind of romantic too. Later that night Max is in his bed dreaming about Maxine and divorcing Deborah. Maxine is in her bed dreaming about Max and him getting a divorce from Deborah. Janiqua was in her bed dreaming about Jean-Paul.

| Chapter 5 Max and Deborah Get A Divorce
It’s the day after the dance and Max and Deborah were in Max’s office arguing about what happened at the dance between Max and Maxine. Maxine, her brothers, her sisters, Janiqua and the Saddle Club were in the stables with their horses and they can hear Max and Deborah arguing with each other. MAXINE: They have been doing that since this morning. STEVIE: What are they arguing about? MAXINE: They are arguing about what happened at the dance yesterday. CAROLE: What did happen at the dance yesterday? MAXINE: Well I got to dance with Max the whole time and Deborah didn’t get to dance with him at all. LISA: Do you mean she didn’t get to have one dance with him? MAXINE: That’s right. It was like Max didn’t want to dance with her and he only wanted to dance with me and I had no idea why. A few seconds later Max’s mom whom Maxine hasn’t met yet walked by. LISA: Hi, Mrs. Reg. ELIZABETH: Hi, girls. CAROLE: What brings you here? ELIZABETH: I’m looking for my son. MAXINE: Would that be Max or Drew? ELIZABETH: Max is my son and Drew is my nephew. Who are you? MAXINE: I’m Maxine Tiara Reginald. I’ve been here for couple of weeks or so. ELIZABETH: It’s nice to meet you Maxine. MAXINE: It’s nice to meet you too, Mrs. Reg. ELIZABETH: Please call me Elizabeth. Maxine was looking up at Max’s office. Maxine sighed. The Saddle Club left. ELIZABETH: What’s wrong Maxine? MAXINE: It’s Max and Deborah. ELIZABETH: What about them? MAXINE: They’re in Max’s office arguing. ELIZABETH: About what? MAXINE: About what happened last night at the dance that we had here. ELIZABETH: What happened at the dance? MAXINE: Deborah wanted to dance with Max, but Max only wanted to dance with me and not her and I have no idea why. Also Max and I danced and sang together to the song that I requested to Drew called “Can I Have This Dance?” After that we did a line dance to the song “Any Man of Mine”. It’s all my fault. ELIZABETH: Don’t say that. MAXINE: It’s true. ELIZABETH: Why? MAXINE: If I didn’t ask Max to dance with me last night he and Deborah wouldn’t be arguing with each other all morning. ELIZABETH: That’s not true. MAXINE: What makes you so sure about that? ELIZABETH: Well I got a call from Max last night saying that he doesn’t love Deborah like he use to and that there is someone else that he loves. MAXINE: Did he tell you who he’s in love with now? ELIZABETH: No he didn’t. Why do you want to know? MAXINE: Well the truth is I’m in love with Max, but he doesn’t know that I am. ELIZABETH: Because of Deborah. MAXINE: That’s right. A few minutes later they noticed Max and Deborah walking out of Max’s office with some papers. Max noticed his mom talking with Maxine. ELIZABETH: So Maxine who is this beautiful horse? MAXINE: This is my horse Maxie. Max walked over to them and Deborah walked passed them with the papers and walked out of the stables. MAX: Hi, mom. ELIZABETH: Hi, Max. Where’s Deborah going? MAX: She’s returning the divorce papers that we just signed. MAXINE: You and Deborah just got a divorce Max? MAX: Yes we did. MAXINE: Why? MAX: Because we don’t love each other like we use to. Besides I’ve falling in love with someone else. MAXINE: Oh. Ok. Max I want to ride Maxie. MAX: Ok. Let’s walk her outside and I’ll help you on her. ELIZABETH: Can’t you get on your horse yourself? MAXINE: Actually I never got on my horse by myself. Back home I have a personal horse trainer whom of which is my older brother Sportacus. ELIZABETH: But your brother isn’t here is he? MAXINE: No he’s not. ELIZABETH: So who helps you on? MAX: I help her on her horse, mom. ELIZABETH: Are you the only one? MAXINE: Yes, yes he is. ELIZABETH: Why Max and not Drew or Red? MAXINE: Well it was my parents idea. ELIZABETH: What idea would that be? MAX: That would be that I have to take care of her and her younger brothers and sisters while they are staying here while their parents are on a business trip. MAXINE: That’s right. A few minutes later Max helped Maxine onto Maxie. MAXINE: Hey, Max have you heard the song called “The Horse Went Around”? MAX: No I haven’t. Have you? MAXINE: Yes I have it’s one of my favorite silly songs. MAX: Silly songs? MAXINE: Yeah you’ll see when I sing it. It’s now my favorite too. That’s a great and funny song. MAXINE: I was hoping that you’ll say something like that. Now Maxine and Max are singing a song in their minds. MAXINE (singing in her mind): There’s something sweet And almost kind But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined And now he’s dear and so unsure I wonder why I didn’t see it there before
MAX (singing in his mind): She glanced this way I thought I saw And when we touched she didn’t shudder at my paw No it can’t be I’ll just ignore But then she’s never looked at me that way before
MAXINE (singing in her mind): New and a bit alarming Who’d have ever thought that this could be? True that he’s no Prince Charming But there’s something in him that I simply didn’t see
MAX (singing in his mind): Well, who’d have thought?
MAXINE (singing in her mind): Well, bless my soul
MAX (singing in his mind): Well, who’d have known?
MAXINE (singing in her mind): Well, who indeed?
MAX (singing in his mind): And who’d have guessed they’d come together on their own?
MAXINE (singing in her mind): It’s so peculiar
BOTH (singing in their mind): We’ll wait and see A few days more There may be something there that wasn’t there before
MAX (singing in his mind): You know, perhaps there’s something there That wasn’t there before
MAXINE (singing in her mind): There may be something there that wasn’t there before. Later that night Max was in his bed dreaming about sleeping with Maxine in his embrace now that he doesn’t have Deborah. Maxine is in her bed dreaming about sleeping in Max’s embrace now that Deborah is gone. Janiqua is in her bed dreaming about Jean-Paul.

| Chapter 6 Another Surprise Visit For Maxine
It’s been two weeks since Max and Deborah got a divorce. Maxine was in her bed dreaming about Max when all of a sudden that dream turned into a nightmare. Maxine woke up screaming and Max ran into her room because he heard her screaming. MAX: Maxine what’s wrong? MAXINE: Oh, Max it was just a dream. MAX: What was just a dream? MAXINE: I had a dream that you left Pine Hollow. MAX: Did you find out how long I was going to be gone, I mean in your dream that is? MAXINE: No, I woke up before I could find out. I just hope that this dream doesn’t come true at all. MAX: Why don’t you want this dream to come true? MAXINE: Well it won’t be the same around here if you left. Besides I will miss you and so would Maxie. The next day Max and Maxine are in the ring and Maxine is riding Maxie. Max and Maxine are still talking about the dream that Maxine had last night. MAX: I know why Maxie will miss me, but why are you going to miss me? MAXINE: Well one reason is you won’t be here when I want to ride Maxie. MAX: Well my cousin Drew can do help you get on Maxie. MAXINE: No it has to be either you or my brother Sportacus. An hour later Max and Maxine walked Maxie back into the stables. Maxine put Maxie into her stall. Max took Maxine by the hand and took her into his office. MAXINE: Why did you bring me into your office Max? MAX: That’s because I have to tell you something. MAXINE: Ok. What do you have to tell me? MAX: Well I have to go away for awhile. MAXINE: WHAT!?! MAX: I’ll be back. MAXINE: How long are you going to be gone? MAX: 2 or 3 weeks. I don’t really know. MAXINE: This is just like my dream but in my dream you left Pine Hollow forever or so I thought. MAX: Don’t worry I’ll come back. MAXINE: How am I going to ride Maxie when you’re leaving? MAX: I have that already planned out. MAXINE: What do you mean? MAX: Follow me and you’ll see. MAXINE (thinking): I’ll follow you to the end of Earth and back. Max left his office and Maxine followed him. A few seconds later 6 people walked in to the stables. MAX (as he’s pointing towards the stable entrance): There’s your answer right there, Maxine. When Maxine saw who walked in she ran over to them. She gave her older brother Sportacus a hug first because she missed him the most. She then gave her other brothers and her sisters a hug. MAXINE: I missed you guys so much. Especially you Sportacus. SPORTACUS: We missed you too. MAXINE: Is mom and dad here with you? JULIETTE: No they aren’t. MAXINE: Where are they? MANNY: They are still on their business trip. MAXINE: Why aren’t you still with them? SPORTACUS: They didn’t need us to be with them anymore. MAXINE: Oh ok. MAX: Maxine I have to go right now. MAXINE: Ok, Max. Bye. MAX: Bye. Before Max left he gave Maxine a passionate hug and a kiss on the cheek. That made Maxine blushed. MAXINE: What was the kiss for, Max? MAX: It was something to remember me by when I’m gone. MAXINE: Thanks Max. You’re so sweet. Now Max walked out of the stables and was gone. MAXINE: Sportacus, I want to ride Maxie. SPORTACUS: Oh, ok, sis. Sportacus helped his sister onto her horse, after they led Maxie out of the stables. As soon as Sportacus helped Maxine on her horse Veronica and her best friend Kristi noticed Maxine and her brother. KRISTI: Who is that with that new girl Maxine? VERONICA: I don’t know but he’s fine. KRISTI: Let’s go introduce ourselves to him. So Veronica and Kristi walked over to where Maxine and her brother Sportacus is at. KRISTI & VERONICA: Hi, Maxine. MAXINE: Oh, hi, Kristi and Veronica. KRISTI: Who is that guy next to you? VERONICA: Is he your boyfriend? MAXINE: Eww, no he’s not. SPORTACUS: I’m her older brother and personal horse trainer Sportacus. Who are you girls? VERONICA: I’m Veronica DiAngelo and this is my best friend Kristi Cavanaugh. SPORTACUS: It’s nice to meet you both. All of a sudden Maxie started to rear up with Maxine still on her. Sportacus and Maxine calmed her down and Sportacus helped Maxine off of Maxie. VERONICA: Maxine what’s wrong with your horse? MAXINE: I’m not so sure yet. (turns to Maxie) What’s wrong girl? Maxie neighed as if she missed Max and Maxine knew by the neigh that Maxie was missing Max. MAXINE: Oh I see you miss Max don’t you girl. Maxie neighed and shook her head yes. VERONICA: How did you know that? MAXINE: Well Veronica, Maxie and I have a special bond. I’ve been with her since she was born. Also I know that Maxie really loves Max and right now she misses him and I can’t blame her I miss Max too. KRISTI: Where did Max go? MAXINE: I’m not sure. VERONICA: What do you mean you’re not sure? MAXINE: He didn’t tell me where he was going. All I know is that he will be gone for 2 or 3 weeks I’m not sure. A few minutes later Veronica and Kristi left. Sportacus and Maxine put Maxie back into her stall. After they did that Maxine and Sportacus went back out of the stables and Maxine started to sing a song called “I Cried.” She sang that song because of how much she misses Max. [Verse] Do you remember How we’d hold each other tight? It was all I had To get me through the night. I can’t believe that you are gone. Everything right, it all went wrong.
[Verse] Do you remember How we kissed? You said you never felt like this. I guess I thought it’d never end. You know that you were my best friend.
[Chorus] I cried - and I don’t care who knows it. I cried - I ain’t too proud to show it. I cried - when you said good bye. Ooh baby, I cried.
[Verse] I wonder If you ever think of me. Or am I just another distant memory. And after all that we’ve been through It’s just so hard To give up on you.
[Chorus] I cried - and I don’t care who knows it. I cried - I ain’t too proud to show it. I cried - when you said good bye. [After modulation] I cried and I don’t care who knows it I cried and I ain’t too proud to show it. I cried - when you said good bye. [After modulation] When you said good bye. I cried, I cried, I cried When you said, When you said, When you said good-bye, ooh, baby, I cried. I cried. A few minutes later Drew told Maxine that there was someone on the phone that wants to talk to her in Max’s office. Maxine went into Max’s office and picked up the phone. MAXINE: Hello, this is Maxine. MAX: Hi, Maxine it’s Max. MAXINE: Hi, Max. Why are you calling? MAX: I’m calling because I forgot to tell you something. MAXINE: What will that be? MAX: I want you to tell Drew to tell everyone that the hay loft right outside my office is off limits to everyone except you, your brothers, your sisters, your best friend Jan, my mom and Drew. Oh ok. I’ll tell Drew that. By the way Max, my horse Maxie really misses you. MAX: How do you know she misses me? MAXINE: Well earlier when I was on her and my brother Sportacus and I were talking to Veronica and Kristi, Maxie reared up and then I found out that she was missing you. I couldn’t blame her because I miss you too. MAX: I miss you both. In fact I miss everyone at Pine Hollow. MAXINE: And I know that they miss you too. MAX: By the way what’s your favorite mythical horse Maxine? Unicorns or Pegasus? MAXINE: I love them both. Why do you want to know? MAX: No reason. I’ll tell you about that when I get back. MAXINE: Speaking of when are you coming back? MAX: I’m going to be back in 2 weeks. MAXINE: Are you sure this time? MAX: Yes I am. MAXINE: Oh ok. MAX: Bye, Maxine. MAXINE: Bye, Max. A few seconds later Max and Maxine hung up on each other. Maxine went to go talk to Drew. MAXINE: Hi, Drew. DREW: Hi, Maxine. What did Max want to talk to you about? MAXINE: He told me to tell you to tell everyone here at Pine Hollow that the hay loft outside his offices is off limits to everyone except me, my brothers, my sisters, my best friend Jan, you and his mom. DREW: Ok, I’ll tell everyone. So Drew went and told everyone what Maxine told him what Max told her to tell everyone. Later that night Maxine was in her bed dreaming about Max.

| Chapter 7 Hidden Feelings Revealed
The next day Maxine went up to the hay loft that's just outside Max’s office after she got through riding Maxie. Maxine was singing “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson. [Verse 1] What if I told you it was all meant to be would you believe me would you agree it’s almost that feelin that we’ve met before so tell me that you don’t think I’m crazy when I tell you love has come here and now
[Chorus] A moment like this Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this some people search forever for that one special kiss Oh, I can’t believe it’s happening to me some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
[Verse 2] Everything Changes but beauty remains something so tender I can’t explain well I may be dreamin but til I awake can we make this dream last forever and I’ll cherish all the love we share
[Chorus] For a moment like this Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this some people search forever for that one special kiss Oh, I can’t believe it’s happening to me some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
[Bridge] could this be the greatest of love above I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall so let me tell you this some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
[Ending Chorus] Some people search a lifetime for a moment like this some people search forever for a moment like this oh I can't believe it’s happening to me some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this for a moment like this some people search forever for a moment like this oh I can’t believe it’s happening to me some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this. Soon after she sang that song her best friend Janiqua came over to her. JANIQUA: Why were you singing that song? MAXINE: I sang it because of what happened yesterday before Max left. JANIQUA: What did happen before Max left yesterday? MAXINE: He kissed me on the cheek. JANIQUA: He kissed you. MAXINE: It was only on the cheek. JANIQUA: But why? MAXINE: He told me it was so that I could remember him when he’s gone. JANIQUA: That was sweet of him. MAXINE: Yeah I know and I told him that he was sweet after he told me why he gave me that kiss on the cheek. Maxine sighed. JANIQUA: What’s wrong? MAXINE: I miss him so much. At that very moment Mrs. Reg walked by and heard Maxine say that. ELIZABETH: Who do you miss, Maxine? MAXINE: Your gorgeous son, Max. ELIZABETH: He’s only been gone a day. MAXINE: I know but I still miss him. Maxine put her hand on the cheek that Max kissed her yesterday before he left. ELIZABETH: What’s the matter Maxine? MAXINE: Nothing. ELIZABETH: Are you sure? MAXINE: Yes. ELIZABETH: Than why are you rubbing your cheek like that? MAXINE: Oh, this is the cheek that Max kissed yesterday before he left. ELIZABETH: My son kissed you? MAXINE: It was only on the cheek. ELIZABETH: Why did he kiss you on the cheek? MAXINE: When I asked him that he told me that it was to remember him by when he’s gone. ELIZABETH: That sounds like my son, Max alright. MAXINE: He is so sweet. Well actually he is a sweetheart. ELIZABETH: That’s my son, Max, alright. He is a sweetheart. The two weeks went by and now it’s the day that Max returns. Maxine was in the stables brushing her horse, Maxie. After Maxine brushed Maxie she went into the lounge and as soon as she walked in she felt a little weak and she almost fainted but lucky for her The Saddle Club was there to catch her before she hit the floor and they helped her to the couch. STEVIE: What’s wrong Maxine? MAXINE: I feel a little weak. CAROLE: What did you do today? MAXINE: I was only brushing Maxie and that’s all. I haven’t ridden her yet. LISA: What will make you feel weak like this? MAXINE: I have been like this for the past two weeks. STEVIE: That’s how long Max has been gone. MAXINE: Yes I know and I’ve been weak since he left. I hope that Max gets here...before...it’s Maxine closed her eyes and didn’t move for a few seconds. LISA: Before it’s what, Maxine. MAXINE (barely talking): Before…it’s…too…late. Maxine closed her eyes again and she wasn’t moving at all. The Saddle Club was getting scared and they knew that they had to find Max. The Saddle Club went looking for Max and they found him in the stables. THE SADDLE CLUB: Max, Max, there you are. CAROLE: We have been looking everywhere for you. MAX: What’s wrong girls? LISA: It’s Maxine. MAX: Where is she? STEVIE: In the lounge on the couch. CAROLE: And she isn’t moving. Max and The Saddle Club ran to the lounge and Max went over to the couch where Maxine was and noticed that The Saddle Club was right Maxine wasn’t moving at all. MAX: How did she get this way? CAROLE: When she walked in earlier she was feeling a little weak but we caught her and helped her to the couch. MAX: Good job girls. How did she get so weak? LISA: She told us that she has been weak for the past two weeks. MAX: That’s how long I’ve been gone. If I never left this wouldn’t have happened to Maxine. How do I get her to wake up? STEVIE: We’ve tried everything to wake her up. CAROLE: But nothing seemed to work. LISA: Why don’t you try waking her up by kissing her, Max? MAX: Where should I kiss her, girls? THE SADDLE CLUB: On the lips. So Max leaned over and kissed Maxine on the lips. A few minutes later Max broke the kiss and Maxine started to open her eyes. MAXINE (as she is opening her eyes): Did, did someone just kiss me? MAX: That may have been me. Maxine was shocked to see that it was Max that kissed her. MAXINE: Max you’re back. Why did you kiss me? MAX: Well, The Saddle Club thought that it will work to wake you up and it did. An hour later Max and Maxine are alone in Max’s office. MAX: Maxine there’s something I want to tell you. MAXINE: There’s something I want to tell you, too, Max. MAX: You go first. MAXINE: No, you go first. MAX: No, it’s ladies first. MAXINE: How about we say it at the same time? MAX: I like that idea. MAX AND MAXINE: I’m in love with you. Max and Maxine were both shocked at what they both said. MAXINE: You’re in love with me? MAX: Yes and you’re in love with me? MAXINE: Yes I am. MAX: How long have you been in love with me? MAXINE: Since my first day here when I first saw you. MAX: Wait is that why you ran out of the stables when Deborah told you she was my wife. MAXINE: Yes that’s why Max. How long have you been in love with me? MAX: Well when Deborah made you run out of the stables that’s when I realized that I was in love with you. Before Maxine could say anything Max pulled her onto his lap and they started kissing each other passionately. Max’s mom walked into Max’s office and noticed her son and Maxine kissing so she decided to give them some privacy. Later that night Maxine was in her bed dreaming about sleeping in Max’s bed with him. Max was in his bed dreaming about having Maxine sleep with him in his bed.
