Fresh Ideas For 2010.

Okay so basically what im looking for is nice refreshing ideas that myself & Steph can implement into the forum after Christmas.

Think of things you think need improving as well things that could make members more happy here at MJ Base.

All ideas are welcome & will be considered.

A contest calender. You get a computer calender, put it on the site and have starting/end dates of contests

Nice idea - We have a forum calener that does this, it's just not showing up with the current theme.

How about photo galleries?
Upload your own photos to your photo albums.

I have an idea! It's not that good but it's something! Maybe we can make our own profiles, with photos and pictures. I don't know maybe write our favourite lyrics. Just popped into my head cuz im so bored!!!

I was thinking having a "Roleplaying Game" on here. I have one on my Michael Jackson & 3T forum. On my Michael Jackson & 3T forum when you visit a members profile you will see at the bottom a "Character Sheet" that character sheet is part of the "Roleplaying Game". If you do decide to do it and it has to be with Michael and his family. I call dips on Michael Jackson since this "Roleplaying Game" was my idea by the way.

In answer to the profiles idea - that would be a great idea but summit i can't do due to basically the forum host doesnt give you an option to extend members profile's to that level & im no wiz at creatin such a code

In regards to the roleplayin idea - i can include that but i've never quite got the idea of that sorta thing so im thinkin it would be pointless - then there's the fact how many members would actually get involved and so on, but anyway i will think about it.

How about changing michaeljacksonworld.forumotion.net into something like michaeljacksonworld.com or net. In other words, purchasing a second domain name. You're at a pretty good well known level already, but I've noticed with my own forum that google bots, yahoo bots, etc tend to treat forums with their own domain name like eye candy. And more members will start to join and come back often, because they feel its more professional and easier to remember. Yes, bookmarking helps, but you'll get more bots besides google coming through which will equal more members because these search engines will be promoting your site. Whenever someone may type in "michael jackson forums", there you will be, esp because you have so many members and topics. It shouldn't cost you any more than about $15/year. Just a suggestion. As for the gallery thing, isn't a gallery mod already installed on forumotion hosted forums? I had one on my old forum before I switched.

Thanks for your input, i will take on board & get the forum it's very own domain name like you said, but this will be after i've moved house & got things sorted there, so hopefully by the end April we will have our own domain.

And in answer to your gallery question, yes there is a gallery already installed, although not that much space.

Just like to add - i have now activated the Gallery so you should be able to create your own personal albums, although im not entirely sure how it works yet!
