| A Walk in the Park
When things are not going so well, and even your days seem dark, take a walk in the park.
Watch the fish, as they swim down stream. Allow yourself a little day dream, hear the sound of a dog as he barks durning a walk in the park.
Notice the leaves on the trees, they are starting to turn green, this time of year, that make one beautiful scene!
Kids riding their bicycles, all over the place, and they do it, with such flamboyancy and grace! The sky is blue, with a touch of gray, birds flying overhead, in their own sweet little way all of which makes a wonderful day!
Now I’ve got to start going towards home, because it’s getting dark, but I have enjoyed, a walk in the park.
Promise
As you sit in silence, Wondering why I’ll be be your shoulder to cry on Until your tears run dry.
When you’ve been hurt, And can’t believe what they’ve done If you need someone to talk to I’ll be the one.
If a close friend hurts you, And you don’t understand Remember I’m here, I’ll lend a helping hand.
A loving heart
For every one that makes you cry, there are three who make you smile, And a smile lasts a long, long time, but a tear just a little while, Don’t let someone who hates the world, cause you to hate it too. Behind the clouds is a golden sun, and a sky that’s full of blue. If someone said a thing that’s cruel, Don’t let it get to you, Your achievements are greatly numbered, and your faults are very few. So if a certain person should act a certain way, Think of those who love you and don’t let it spoil your day.
Friends
There comes a point in your life sometimes when you don’t know where to look and you don’t know what you’ll find... You feel as if you’re standing alone in the middle of an empty room with no where to run and so full of gloom... You begin to wonder if there is no end and along comes someone special that calls themselves your friend... You feel the warmth of their laughter, you begin to have faith, you ask yourself why for this you had to wait... The happiness, the trust, the loyalty, the love you believe in your heart was sent from the Lord above... As time goes by you realize that you were never alone, just waiting in the shadows to be shown the way home... The journey is hard and the road is long but before you know it the emptiness you feel is completely gone... You’re thankful every day for the person you’ve become strong-willed and happy, having a lifetime of fun... You stop for a mintue... realizing how all of this began and know that it came with a special person...
...That you now call your friend...
The Scramble for a Brief Ascension
Every time I climb a mountain, And I’m feeling very proud, Another one looms into view, And once again, I’m cowed.
I cannot always find the path, Sometimes there isn’t any, Often I must start from scratch, And the hindrances are many.
Rocks and stones are in the way, Sometimes I go around, Some I can crawl over, I kick others from the ground.
Brambles are a nuisance, But if I touch enough, They’re just an inconvenience, For my skin has grown tough.
I ignore small cuts and bruises, They happen all the time, They may halt me for a moment, Soon I resume my climb.
Sometimes friends climb with me, I’m more often on my own, Should I trip and hold them up, They leave; I go on alone.
If I slip, and I do often, I may sit down and cry, Eventually I get back up, Give it another try.
Sometimes I move in circles, I just go ‘round and ‘round, I don't make any progress, In fact, I may lose ground.
Struggle - struggle - struggle, At last I reach the crest, I laugh aloud - no longer cowed, And I have found success.
My satisfaction is short-lived, As I realize I’m not done, For there looms another mountain, And it’s a bigger one. | |

| I am not sure if I am allowed to leave my impressions here. But if I am, I would like to say that these poems are so wise and beautiful that I want to copy them and to read to my pupils. May I do that? | |
