Judge issues warrant for Lindsay Lohan's arrest

Lindsay Lohan could be arrested as soon as she steps off a plane from the Cannes Film Festival, cops confirmed today.

A warrant was issued for the actress’s arrest after she failed to turn up for a scheduled court hearing, claiming her passport had been stolen in the south of France.

Asked whether Lohan would be arrested at the airport, LA County Sheriffs spokesman Steve Whitmore said: “It is a possibility, yes.”

Lohan, 23, was due in court in Beverly Hills, California, today (Thursday), for a probation check up following her 2007 drink driving conviction.

Her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, told the court the Mean Girls star – who has been photographed partying in Cannes – had tried to attend but was unable to fly home when her passport went missing.

“Miss Lohan’s passport has been stolen. She has filled out police reports from Cannes and she has been to the Embassy this morning to get a temporary passport,” she said.

“She went to the airport and didn’t realise she didn’t have her passport. She intended to be in court.”

But Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel said: “She has a history of not keeping scheduled appointments. If she wanted to be here, it looks to the court as if she could have been here. There is really no valid excuse.”

Judge Revel revoked Lohan’s probation, issued a warrant for her arrest and set her bail at $100,000.
