EASTENDERS STARS PERFORM MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

Post by Smooth Criminal on Thu Nov 19, 2009 6:10 am

ALBERT Square stars will provide a charity Thriller tomorrow by performing Michael Jackson hits for Children In Need.

The Walford crew will showcase a tribute to the King of Pop during the BBC1 fund-raiser.

Legends Sid Owen and Patsy Palmer, both 37, are among cast members putting on a show-stopping procession of Motown classics.

And younger actors even dress up as the Jackson Five.

Despite the mammoth task, the cast had just a few hours to perfect their Motown moves before filming.

And some put others to shame by being too good at dancing.

Smug John Partridge, 38, who plays tough gay guy Christian Clarke, was so quick to learn the steps he had to wait while others caught up.

David Proud, 26, who plays Adam Best, said: “He set a prime example to us all with his great singing and dancing.”

A show insider added: “He’s musically trained so can sing and dance very well, but a lot of the crew hadn’t seen him in action.

“The cast always help Children In Need as much as they can and this year wanted to do another musical extravaganza.”

Last year the cast put on a Moulin Rouge-themed set of West End classics with Patsy Palmer as Eliza Doolittle and Laurie Brett (Jane Beale), 39, as Mary Poppins.
