Firm plans Michael Jackson action dolls

The company behind Action Man has reportedly secured the rights to distribute a new Michael Jackson figure.

Character Group will initially sell two versions of a ten-inch plastic doll, manufactured by Playmate Toys, the Financial Times reports.

Each toy will have fully-articulated arm and leg joints and the company is also planning two follow-up action figures

Chairman of Character Group Richard King said: "Michael Jackson's persona and performances were legendary and it is fantastic to be involved with an inspirational figure who entertained millions with the great music he created.

"We are confident that the dolls will be highly sought after by fans and collectors alike, and we look forward to launching the full range in time for Christmas sales this year."

Finance director Kiran Shah denied suggestions that the toys would come with a miniature monkey in honour of Jackson's pet Bubbles, but did not rule out the possibility of the figures featuring a replica rhinestone-studded glove.
